Sponsorship terms

Short version: you buy a spot, your logo goes on the bike and on this page, and if somebody pays double for it you get every penny back. The rest of this page is the same thing in more detail.

Last updated 2026-09-16.

This page is missing the business address and contact email. Both are required before the site takes payments.

What you are buying

A named spot on my bike, or on the indoor trainer, carrying your logo as a die-cut vinyl decal. Your brand also gets a listing on this page with your logo, a link to your site and a one-line tagline, for as long as you hold the spot.

You are buying a placement, not a guaranteed audience. I cannot promise impressions, clicks, sales or coverage, and nothing on this page should be read as promising them.

Price and payment

Prices are in pounds sterling and are shown on the page before you pay. Payment is by card through Stripe. I never see or store your card details.

Every time a spot changes hands its price multiplies by 2. The price you see when you click is the price you pay; the price shown afterwards is what the next sponsor would pay.

If two people pay for the same spot at the same time, the first payment to reach the database takes it. The second payment is refunded in full, automatically, and I email the sponsor to say so.

How a takeover works

Anyone can take your spot by paying 2 times what you paid. When that happens your logo comes off the page, their logo goes on, and you are refunded every penny you paid — automatically, without asking. The refund is funded by their payment.

You get an email telling you who took it and how much came back. You are free to take the spot straight back for double what they paid. There is no cap on how many times this can happen.

Refunds land back on the card you paid with, usually within a few working days, depending on your bank.

If you change your mind

If you cancel yourself before anyone takes your spot, I refund what you paid minus the card processing fee Stripe charged on the payment (between 1.5% and 3.2% plus 20p, depending on your card). Stripe does not return that fee to me when I refund you, and I cannot cover it on every cancellation.

If you are buying as a consumer rather than for a business, you have the statutory 14-day right to cancel a distance contract and get a full refund. Tell me within 14 days and I will refund in full, fee included.

Artwork

You send the artwork after paying: a vector file (SVG or PDF) because the decal is cut from it, plus an image if your vector is a PDF. You confirm that you own the artwork or have the right to use it, and that displaying it here and on the bike will not infringe anyone else's rights.

I keep the final say on what goes on the frame. If artwork would embarrass me at a group ride, in front of my mother, or in a police report, I will refuse it and refund you in full. That includes anything unlawful, hateful, misleading, or promoting gambling, adult content, weapons or tobacco.

Until your artwork arrives, your brand name appears in place of the logo.

How long the spot lasts

Until race day, unless somebody takes it over first. Race day is shown on the page once the date is fixed. On that day spots lock and whoever holds them keeps them through the event.

If the race date moves, the spot moves with it. If no race date has been set yet, your spot runs until one is announced, and never less than twelve months from the day you paid.

Decals live outdoors on a bike that gets ridden, cleaned and photographed. If one lifts or wears, I replace it.

If I stop riding

The numbers on this page come out of Strava on their own, so a long gap is visible before I would ever admit to one. If I stop for good, or the project ends before race day, every sponsor holding a spot at that point is refunded in full.

Illness, injury, a stolen bike or a house move are not the end of the project. I will say so on this page and keep riding when I can.

Your responsibility for what you send

You are responsible for the brand name, tagline, link and artwork you supply. Do not send anything you do not have the right to publish. If a third party makes a claim about material you supplied, you agree to cover the costs that claim causes me.

Limits

I am one person with one bike. My liability to you is limited to what you paid for the spot. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot legally be limited.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.

Changes

If I change these terms, the change applies to spots bought after the change. The terms you bought under keep applying to your current spot, including the refund rule.
